Heaven and Hell

Hey, can anyone tell me what happened to heaven and hell, I used to go there a few years back, and when i went to grand central the other week it was closed down? Anyone know?

Hi there, I can't say for sure, but I think it was closed due to all the trouble in Grand Central. I knew a couple of people who went there and there was always something kicking off at the weekend. The thing is, the authorities knew where and when the 'action' was taking place and had several ways to control it. As always they chose the easy option by simply pulling the plug. Now the trouble makers are split up. Now my nephews on Edgelely don't have a place to go anymore. Sad really. Do you know Tom Handford and Scott Livsey? He drove a blue Scooby.

the club went into liquidation about may this year 06 and so he had to close down the club it wasnt anything todo with the trouble there as there wasnt that much realy been a keen cluber who used to go alot if you go to www.thisislancashire.co.uk/leisure/clubbing/ this will explain all hope this is of help ,
hope is a a decent enough ven ue when some one takes over the site

hmm, well I'll miss the place i guess tho it was a dive. hope they come up with something good, something more classy and less scallyish.

As far as I know the official line was financial issues, but there was a lot of trouble regarding underage drinkers and anti-social behaviour.

it shut down because of financial trouble and to this day stockport is not the place to be anymore there is no where we can go but manchester and as far as im concerned and my friends r it doesnt compare to h+h might av been abit of a dive but was always a really good time miss the place loads wish it was still open or would open again

i miss h n h it should get bought and made into heaven and hell again,it was phat nights out there if you just lived near stockport cause it was nly a walk away plus it was an all round top night nthing bad to say about it.. BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont know much about this apart from it shutting a couple of years back
what i can say is, i walked past today to go the train station,
and seen a van outside, with men taking boxes of alcohol and water into the club.
a positive sign surely.

Think you'll find they were taking those boxes into the Bowling Alley underneath the club actually pal...

As the manager of the venue at the time it closed, i can assure you it was purely a finacial decision neccesiatated by bad management from the people at the top.   This resulted in the parent company going bust and 8 venues being shut, resulting in around 300 jobs being lost. As far as trouble is concerned, H & H Stockport had far less trouble than many other venues I have worked at and we actually had a very good relationship with the Police and Council.

The grand Central site is being redeveloped to include a new hotel complex.   The Cinema and Swimming Pool will remain but the Bowling Alley, Brannigans & Heaven and hell will be knocked down to make way for the Hotel.
